As a passionate academic, I place a high priority on engaging with external stakeholders to enrich both my teaching and research. Over the past 2 to 3 years, I have leveraged social media, particularly LinkedIn, to highlight my interactions with students, industry partners, and prospective students. This strategic use of social media has resulted in my recognition as a LinkedIn Top Teaching Voice, with over 8,200 followers, approximately 1.2 million impressions, and 24,000 engagements in the past year. This active online presence has not only enhanced my teaching by facilitating guest speakers' visits but has also connected industry partners with a valuable talent pool. In addition to my social media efforts, I have developed a successful tri-partite engagement model through student consultancy projects. This model involves collaboration among students, industry practitioners, and myself, and has garnered external awards for its innovative approach. By integrating industry-university experiential learning projects, this model significantly boosts digital readiness within the accounting curriculum. Students work on real business problems using data-driven analytics, gaining critical insights into digital transformation in accounting. This hands-on approach equips students with practical solutions and prepares them for the industry, while also fostering collaboration and expanding their professional networks through direct interactions with industry professionals. The model not only enhances students' educational experiences but also improves their employability prospects. By engaging in these projects, students often secure internships or full-time employment opportunities upon graduation. This strategy underscores the profound impact that effective stakeholder engagement and experiential learning can have on both academic and professional outcomes, demonstrating a commitment to preparing students for successful careers while advancing industry-academic collaboration.
