Skills and Employability Enhancement of the Year Award

Summary

IBS Bangalore's Career Management Centre (CMC) believes that transformation of a student starts when the student is able to clarify his/her aspirations and hence set targets for self-development in terms of knowledge, skills, and abilities. CMC facilitates various training and learning interventions for the students to ascend to the level of preparedness as desired by the industry. Finally, the relationships that we develop with the industry help the students to attain their career goals.

IMPACT STORY

Impacting lifes

Mani Venkat Pechetti is an alumni from Class of 2024. He did his Bachelor's in Computer Science before joining the MBA program in IBS Bangalore. He belongs to the coastal city of Vijayawada in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Through participating in various training and preparatory sessions by CMC, Mani Venkat successfully got a campus placement in a well-known Microfinance company as a Management Trainee and has since started his career with the company in July 2024.

There are many such impact stories of our students who launch their careers in a wide range of sectors each year.

LEARNINGS

Lessons learned

Career development of students is a significant aspect of management education and requires a concerted effort from all the stakeholders. The institute must identify the resources, competencies and the processes that are required to design and implement intervention strategies to help students achieve their desired learning outcomes.

Involve alumni, industry leaders, faculty members and other coaches to motivate the students to pursue their goals

FUTURE PLANS

What's coming?

CMC plans to use more digital as well as AI driven tools to prepare students more efficiently in the upcoming cycles.

KEY STATISTICS

Inclusivity

As we have students from a diverse background - cultural, educational, regional - we have to take care of the differences in their learnability and then design and implement the training interventions
